Plus, I had already seen everything visually the game had to offer, so there wasn't really much appeal in focusing on design, either. I had already built or been able to build everything the game had to offer and I knew there was zero challenge ahead. I could keep the game running for days and not lose any tenants. By the time I hit floor 20 I felt I was just repeating myself for no real goal and for no real purpose. You quickly figure out how to balance the needs and resources and essentially copy the same pattern as you build your way up. However, as more time passed, I realized this is ultimately a shallow game. There was a lot that felt right from the get go. Trying to figure out optimal placements kept me very engaged the first five hours or so. Balancing the various tenant needs with resource needs was interesting and challenging. It hooked me in quickly and it had a pleasing aesthetic, especially when zoomed in. Please note, a lot of my game time was spent idle after I had stable buildings so I could build up cash/influence/buzz.Īt first, I liked the game a lot.
